The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education who doubles as Chief Innovation Officer for the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation in Sierra Leone, David Moinina Sengeh expressed gratefulness after given the opportunity to Chair the National Delegates Conference of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Bo town.

The Sierra Leone Peoples party organized the party’s National Delegates Conference on 28th and 29th December, 2021 in Bo Town where they endorsed His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio as the presidential flagbearer of the party for 2023 general elections and voted candidates for national positions in the party. The 2-days National Delegates Conference was chaired by Minister David Moinina Sengeh.

David Sengeh took to Facebook and expressed his joy for chairing one of the oldest parties in Sierra Leone conference. He stated that his parents were beaten by the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party for supporting candidates in the Sierra Leone Peoples Party. He declared his support for party and promised to introduce his children to the party.

“There are some things you don’t pray for… you just get blessed with them.

I am grateful for God’s Blessings as I was able to Chair the National Delegates Conference of the Sierra Leone People’s Party- one of the two oldest parties in Africa- which endorsed our Flagbearer for the 2023 Presidential elections. What an honor!!

I am also grateful to have worked with the best and very diverse team within the Independent Electoral Monitoring and Observation Committee who conducted 15 National Officer elections including the Party Chairman in a very inclusive, transparent, open and safe process.

I was proud to have been born in the SLPP where my parents were both beaten by APC for supporting candidates in this party. I am proud to introduce my own children to this Party and tell them about the family atmosphere, the dancing and creativity and most importantly, that the future of this country rests in our hands.

I am proud to be a member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party- the only Social Democratic Party of Sierra Leone. We have showed the world how to do internal party politics.

I want to thank H.E President Bio and Leader of the SLPP for nominating me as Chair of IEMOC and to the rest of the National Executive Council for endorsing that nomination. It was such a beautiful pleasure to serve in this role where we have learned a lot, sweated a lot, screamed a lot and most importantly, had lots of fun.

#WeDaeBorborDen” he stated.
