The Chairman of the Interim Transition and Government Committee (ITGC) of the All People’s Congress (APC), Alfred Peter Conteh has refuted claims that the ITGC has been dissolved.

Conteh, in a press release dated 22 February 2023 announced that the just concluded National Delegates Conference is illegitimate.

The ITGC is still in charge of the overall affairs of the APC until the ITGC and only the ITGC conducts the NDC under the supervision of the PPRC,” Conteh said.

The Chairman said that “the ITGC remains the legitimate” body of the party.

He added that it is only the ITGC that is tasked with responsibility of conducting the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) as per Justice Adrian Fisher’s ruling 28th April and 23rd November last year.

He asked the public to discountenance an earlier press release issued by the Secretary General, Abdul Kargbo of the ITGC which he said to be misleading.

He affirmed that Kargbo lacked the authority to dissolve the ITGC.

The just concluded NDC saw former presidential candidate in 2018 elections, Dr. Samura Kamara winning the party’s top job by a landslide.
