The leadership of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has extended its appreciation to all party members and stakeholders for their active participation in the recently concluded internal elections.

According to the party, the smooth conduct of the process in most areas stands as a testament to their shared commitment to democracy, transparency, and unity.

In a statement issued by the SLPP National Secretary General, Umaru Napoleon-Koroma, the party applauded the efforts of its executives, the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), and all those involved in organizing and supervising the elections. The dedication of these individuals, he noted, ensured a fair and credible process that reflects the true spirit of the SLPP.

However, the party expressed concern over reports of violence and misconduct in some areas. The SLPP condemned these incidents, emphasizing that such actions contradict the party’s core democratic values.

“We strongly condemn any form of violence, intimidation, or disruption in party activities,” the statement read.

The leadership promised to investigate all reported incidents and hold those responsible accountable. “Our sincere sympathy goes out to anyone affected. We assure them that justice will be served,” Koroma added.

The SLPP leadership further called on its members to prioritize respect, unity, and discipline, urging everyone to work together for the continued growth of the party and the progress of Sierra Leone.
