Aminata Fullah, a FIFA-badged referee from Sierra Leone, has successfully completed the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A Referees Training Program ahead of the upcoming U-20 Women’s Championship scheduled for May 2026 in Guinea-Bissau.

The training programme is considered a key requirement for referees selected to officiate regional competitions. It focused on improving technical officiating skills, decision-making under pressure, and ensuring full compliance with match laws and competition standards.

By completing the course, Fullah is now eligible to officiate at the forthcoming championship, where she is expected to join a selected team of match officials for the tournament.

Her selection reflects her consistent performances in domestic football and her growing reputation within regional officiating circles. As a FIFA-accredited referee, Fullah continues to represent Sierra Leone in international football officiating.

Her achievement is also seen as a boost for female participation in refereeing across West Africa, as football authorities continue efforts to promote gender inclusion in the game.

The WAFU U-20 Women’s Championship in Guinea-Bissau is expected to provide a major platform for emerging players and match officials from across the region.
