Benin previously eliminated Burkina Faso in the first round, with Gandonou scoring all five of her team’s goals across those two matches . Sierra Leone had advanced after eliminating Côte d’Ivoire, having played to a 0-0 draw at home before progressing .
The second leg kicks off on Friday, 29 May, where Sierra Leone will need to overturn a three-goal deficit to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
