Veteran Sierra Leonean athlete, Momofoe Kpundeh whose death was confirmed last Tuesday, 23rd November, 2021 will now be buried in Freetown aged 54 years.

The late Momofoe was one-time West Africa’s fastest bowler, a short run up but fast paced one. He played club Cricket for the Sierra Leone Police Cricket team.

He served as National Female Cricket Head Coach 2014-2017, leading the ladies to clinching the Winner trophy of the maiden edition of the Northwest Africa Women’s T20 Cricket tournament in Banjul in 2015.

On Tuesday a cross section of the Board and Management of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association paid a visit to the Family of late Momofoe Kpundeh, the former Assistant Head Coach for the Ladies Patriots, who faced his demise on Tuesday, 23rd November, 2021 in Freetown.

In attendance were the Chairman of SLCA, Francis Trevor Samura; the CEO of SLCA, Philip Amara; Technical Director, Gabriel Anthony; Chief Operating Officer, Daniel Koroma; and National Teams Coordinator, Alhaji Koroma.

The team delivered a token to the Kpundeh Family in an effort to mourn with the relatives for the irreparable loss.

Words of solace in the face of agony and sorrow were shared as the remains of Momofoe Kpundeh will be laid to rest today Wednesday, 1st December, 2021 at Kingtom after a funeral Service at St Edwards Church Kingtom.
