Sierra Leone fans have taken to their social media pages to vent their anger at coach John Keister after the Leone Stars were thrashed in a FIFA International friendly match following a 4-0 defeat against South Africa on Saturday.
The Leone Stars went into the friendly match at FBN Stadium in Johannesburg needing a win but instead failed to defeat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Leone Stars last outing was in June where they played out a 2-2 draw with Guinea Bissau – as their chances of qualifying for Cote d’Ivoire 2023 look shaky.
On a positive side, this game served as an opportunity for coach John Keister to identify the team’s weaknesses ahead of the AFCON qualifiers.
Regardless of the result, the Leone Stars would be aiming to put their squad in good shape for their next competitive AFCON outing against Sao Tome and Principe.
However, the latest result has left Leone Stars fans calling for the head Coach John Keister to be sacked, others asking him to resign or be fired while another lebeled him as a manager without technicality.
Below is how Leone Stars fans reacted to the 4-0 defeat.
Gibril King reacted on Facebook that “He should be replaced, he has no technicality and always hides when the team is struggling.”
Mohamed Bah commented on SLFA Facebook Page “Since Keister took over this team, we have no identity as a team, we have no confidence, we cannot even pass the ball. The bottom line he has no technical ability as a coach.”
Mustapha Conteh added that “FC KALLON should have done better than Leone Stars. No system of playing. Poor coaching.”
