The Sierra Leone National team coach, John Keister has said that he admires team captain, Steven Caulker.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the Leone Stars Coach revealed his admiration for Caulker and the experience he’s introduced to the team.
“I’m just pleased that he’s back playing [with Wigan Athletic in England’s second tier] as he’ll give us a lot more when he’s with the national team,” Keister told BBC Sport.
He added that the former Liverpool and Tottenham defender has been a wonderful leader to a new crop of young players in the national team.
The coach said his task is to qualify Sierra Leone in a back-to-back African Cup of Nations (AfCON) finals after returning the nation to the competition last year in Cameroon after 25 years.
Keister said that he believes football is what unite Sierra Leoneans and that qualifying the nation last year was highest point working for Sierra Leone football.
Leone Stars will play São Tomé and Principé tomorrow and on the 26th March as they look to better their chances of qualifying for next AfCON in Ivory Coast.
