Prezo Koroma, an active social media user, has taken to Facebook to call on the LAC organization to continue their efforts in organizing a football gala for inmates at the Pademba Road Correctional Center.
With a population exceeding 10,000 inmates, the facility holds a significant number of individuals who could benefit from engaging in sporting activities.
Koroma expressed his support for LAC’s initiatives by sharing pictures on his social media page, which reminded him of the positive impact the organization had made on football within the Correctional Center.
He highlighted that LAC had successfully organized three football competitions during their previous engagements.
Moreover, Koroma revealed that he has been in discussions with LAC to extend their football initiatives to the Male Correctional Centre located in Freetown.
Recognizing the unifying power of football, he emphasized the importance of providing inmates with a platform to exhibit their talents, ultimately fostering a lively and engaging environment within the facility.
“Football is the main thing that brings inmates together and it makes the yard to be lively. We have talented footballers in there and there is a need for them to be exhibiting their talents,” he said.
Concluding his message, Koroma called upon individuals and organizations to collaborate with LAC, as they seek support to pursue their goal of organizing a football gala for inmates. He emphasized the significance of collective efforts in bringing about positive change and rehabilitation opportunities for incarcerated individuals.
