The Sierra Leone national football team, widely known as Leone Stars, have unveiled a new era in their team identity after debuting a fresh all-green kit designed by Labrum Athletic during an international friendly match against Azerbaijan national football team on Monday.

The new kit marks the first official collaboration between Leone Stars and Labrum Athletic, a globally recognized fashion and sportswear brand.

The development represents a significant step for Sierra Leonean football, as the national team aligns with a brand that has gained prominence in international sports and fashion circles.

Labrum Athletic was founded by Sierra Leonean-born designer Foday Dumbuya, who publicly celebrated the milestone on Facebook. In his post, Dumbuya highlighted the partnership as a major achievement for both the brand and Sierra Leonean representation on the global stage.

The Leone Stars’ appearance in the newly introduced kit during the FIFA international friendly series signals the beginning of what is expected to be a long-term relationship between the national team and the brand.

Labrum Athletic has built a strong reputation, particularly in the United Kingdom, where it has collaborated with major global companies, including Adidas. In the 2024/25 football season, the brand partnered with Adidas to design an Afro-inspired kit for Arsenal F.C., further cementing its influence in elite football apparel.

The introduction of the Labrum-designed kit for Leone Stars not only reflects a new visual identity for the team but also highlights growing recognition of African-inspired design in international sportswear.

The Sierra Leone Football Association has yet to release further details about the partnership, but the debut has already drawn attention as a proud moment for both the national team and the country’s creative industry.
