The Mogbwemo Queens, champions of the Sierra Leone Female Premier League, are still pursuing their first victory in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers WAFU A Sierra Leone.
They began their tournament with a draw against AS Mande, the champions of Mali, in a dramatic and entertaining match. Although AS Mande dominated the first quarter and had three clear-cut chances, they failed to convert.
However, the Mogbwemo Queens intensified their efforts and disrupted AS Mande’s rhythm. Despite having a brilliant opportunity in the final third of the first half, they were unable to convert.
In their second match on August 5th, 2024, the Mogbwemo Queens also drew 2-2 against Aigles De La Médina from Senegal.
The team needs to win their remaining matches against Liberia’s Determine Girls and Red Scorpions in order to progress to the next stage of the competition.
