Sierra Leone Football Association President Babadi Kamara and General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh attended the FIFA Executive Summit 2026 in Miami, USA, alongside football administrators and stakeholders from around the world.
The summit reviewed the state of the game and outlined strategic priorities and financial frameworks aimed at accelerating football development.
A key agenda item was the transition from FIFA Forward 3.0 to FIFA Forward 4.0. Delegates were informed that the new cycle, running from 2027 to 2031, would see a 20% increase in funding over the current program. FIFA Forward has been a core component of FIFA’s support for Member Associations since President Gianni Infantino took office in 2016, providing funding for competitions, infrastructure, capacity-building, and operational development. FIFA Forward 3.0 ends in December 2026.
The summit also announced the first FIFA U15 World Cup/Festival, scheduled for October 2026. The event is open to all FIFA Member Associations and aims to create a new global platform for youth talent identification and development.
FIFA also discussed its partnership with DAZN, which will become FIFA+’s official streaming partner, expected to increase global visibility and access for fans.
Kamara and Bawoh’s attendance highlights Sierra Leone’s continued involvement in international football governance. Their participation demonstrates the association’s commitment to using global projects and increased funding to improve football infrastructure, grassroots initiatives, and competitive pathways in Sierra Leone.
