The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed a new team of technical and administrative officials to oversee the National Under-20 Men’s Team ahead of the forthcoming WAFU Zone A U-20 Men’s Championship in Mali.
The appointments were announced in a press release dated Wednesday, August 19, 2026, as the SLFA steps up preparations for the regional competition, which is scheduled for October 2026.
The WAFU Zone A U-20 Championship will also serve as a qualifying tournament for the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Ghana 2027, increasing the importance of Sierra Leone’s preparations for the competition.
Abdul Ahmed Bangura has been appointed Team Manager, while Mohamed Lamin Kamara will serve as Head Coach. John Dominic Konneh and Abdul Rahman Turay have been named Assistant Coach I and Assistant Coach II respectively.
The technical team is further strengthened by Alie Jaward as Goalkeeper Coach and Kabinèh Kamara as Fitness Coach. Victor Cole has been appointed Welfare Officer, with Pa Alie Sesay taking responsibility as Media Officer.
Arnold Denis Jackson has been named Masseure, while Alicious Kamara will serve as Team Medic and Mohamed Speaking Kamara as Team Administrator.
The SLFA said the appointments are aimed at providing the National U-20 side with the technical and administrative support required to prepare adequately for the upcoming championship.
The association has also congratulated the appointed officials and expressed confidence in their collective ability to prepare the team for the regional tournament.

The WAFU Zone A tournament is expected to provide Sierra Leone’s young players with an important platform to compete at regional level while pursuing qualification for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The appointments mark an early step in the SLFA’s preparations for what could be a significant campaign for Sierra Leone’s next generation of footballers.
