Leone Stars has suffered a 4-0 defeat in an international friendly against the South African side.

The match took place today 24th September, 2022 in the international break with both teams preparing for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match Kickedoff at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, 1pm Sierra Leone time and 3pm South Africa time.

Leone Stars last outing was in June where they played out a 2-2 draw with Guinea Bissau – as their chances of qualifying for Cote d’Ivoire 2023 look shaky.

For the Bafana Bafana’s they bowed 2-1 to Morocco despite taking an eighth-minute lead through Lyle Foster inside Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.

On a positive side, this game served as an opportunity for coach John Keister to try newcomers ahead of AFCON Qualifiers. However, due to Visa restrictions, the team arrived late with Just one day match situation training to face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

Regardless of the result, the Leone Stars are  aiming to put their squad in good shape for their next competitive AFCON outing against Sao Tome and Principe
