Mohamed Lamin Kamara, currently serving as Head Coach of Wusum Stars in the North East Region, has refuted allegations of breaching his contract, which led to his recent suspension.
The club’s management issued a press release on Saturday, June 15, 2024, accusing Kamara of honoring commitments to another team during the crucial final phase of the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League season.
Having successfully guided Wusum Stars to a 9th place finish in the previous season, thereby securing their position in the top-tier league, Kamara categorically denied any wrongdoing. In an interview with NewsFeed Sierra Leone, Kamara challenged the management to provide concrete evidence to substantiate their claims.
“I have received correspondence regarding the allegations and promptly requested proof from the club’s management regarding any conflicting contracts,” Kamara stated. He acknowledged the suspension and expressed willingness to cooperate pending further resolution of the matter.
Under Kamara’s leadership, Wusum Stars currently holds the 5th position in the ongoing 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League season, accumulating 47 points from 31 matches with 13 wins, 8 draws, and 10 losses.
