Hon. Moiwo Gevao, Member of Parliament, has called for urgent and decisive action from the Sierra Leone Police following the tragic killing of his son, Emmanuel Tamba Gevao, at Amani Nightclub in Freetown.

The incident marks the third reported but unresolved killing linked to the popular entertainment venue.

In an emotionally charged statement, Hon. Gevao expressed deep frustration over the perceived lack of progress by the police in investigating the matter. He revealed that, in the absence of official updates, he took it upon himself to gather evidence surrounding the circumstances of his son’s death.

“My son was murdered, and yet the very place where it happened continues to operate like nothing happened,” Gevao said. “This is not just about my child it’s about the safety of every young person in our community.”

Gevao’s concerns highlight a troubling pattern of violence allegedly tied to the nightclub. Despite the repeated incidents, authorities have yet to shut down the establishment or bring any suspects to justice.

In response to the claims, the wife of the nightclub’s proprietor has denied that the incident took place within the nightclub’s premises. However, Hon. Gevao remains firm in his position, citing his own findings and eyewitness accounts that link the venue directly to the incident.

The lawmaker has urged the Sierra Leone Police to act swiftly and transparently to deliver justice not only for his family but also for the broader community, which he believes is increasingly at risk if such acts are allowed to continue without consequence.

“This cannot be allowed to go unpunished. We need answers. We need accountability. And we need justice fast,” Gevao insisted.

As investigations continue, public attention is now sharply focused on Amani Nightclub and the police response, with many calling for a thorough review of the establishment’s operations and security practices.
