Reports from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Secretariat reveal that the finance department’s document store was forcibly broken into and looted just days after newly elected SLFA President Babadi Kamara and his Executive Committee met with the Ad-Hoc Transition Committee.

While all external doors to the SLFA offices remained intact, only the finance department’s door was forced open, according to sources from the Secretariat.

The incident took a serious turn as the Head of Safety & Security, Mohamed Freeman, is currently at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) giving a statement regarding the theft of sensitive documents from the SLFA finance department. Close sources report that the Transition Committee had requested these documents with a deadline of August 11, 2025, to begin their investigation.

According to the duty secretary, the main door key to the finance department was taken from a security post by an undisclosed SLFA staff member prior to the break-in. Despite this, all external doors remained untouched.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Head of Finance, Ibrahim Bah, were unsuccessful as he declined to comment on the matter.

This incident follows a recent meeting between President Kamara and the Transition Committee, chaired by Dr. Isaac Massaquoi, which was established to ensure a smooth handover to the new SLFA administration. During the meeting, Kamara praised the committee members for their expertise in legal affairs, accounting, and governance, emphasizing that the process aims to develop football in Sierra Leone without witch-hunting.

The Transition Committee’s mandate is scheduled from August 8 to August 22, 2025.
