Sallieu Kanu and Tamba Senessie have been convicted and sentenced to four months each in prison for the theft of eleven sheets of imported brown zinc.
The two accused appeared before Magistrate Julia Mary Gbloh at the Pademba Road Court No. 5 in Freetown on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to answer charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.
Magistrate Gbloh demonstrated firm adherence to the rule of law, imposing a four-month prison sentence on each defendant after they pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to police reports from Freetown, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Dundas Street in Western Freetown, Kanu was apprehended for stealing eleven sheets of brown imported zinc, each valued at five hundred and sixty-two Leones (NLe 562), totaling NLe 6,182.
The property belonged to Kaday Bah.
When the charges were read and explained by the court clerk, both Kanu and Senessie pleaded guilty.
Having considered their pleas and noting that the defendants did not waste the court’s time, Magistrate Gbloh found them guilty and sentenced each to four months’ imprisonment, to be served at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
