The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, on Sunday, October 5, held a high-level one-on-one meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Kinshasa, on the sidelines of the 47th CAF General Assembly scheduled for Monday, October 6, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During the meeting, President Kamara expressed deep appreciation to President Infantino for his outstanding global leadership, which continues to transform football and inspire renewed hope for the game in Sierra Leone.

He outlined the key priorities of his administration, which include accelerating infrastructural development through the FIFA Forward Programme, constructing a new SLFA Headquarters, and implementing the FIFA Arena Project designed to build mini-pitches across communities and schools.

President Kamara also highlighted the ongoing collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone on the “Football for Schools” initiative, aligned with President Julius Maada Bio’s earlier commitment to FIFA during his meeting with Infantino in New York.

He further emphasized his administration’s vision to establish a new football ecosystem grounded in integrity, transparency, and good governance.

In response, FIFA President Gianni Infantino reaffirmed FIFA’s full support to President Kamara and his executive team, commending his personal commitment to football development.

“You are an important person in football today not by coincidence but because of the shift you have brought into football development personally. When you are somebody from the game, who has done something for the game personally, we are bound to support you to succeed as President of the Sierra Leone Football Association and that is exactly what we will do,” Infantino stated.

Also in attendance were FIFA General Secretary Mattias Grafström, FIFA Deputy Chief Member Association Officer Gelson Fernandes, SLFA Vice President 1 Ali Badara Tarawallie, and SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh.
