Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, Amara Dennis Turay, popularly known as Kao Denero, has announced the peaceful resolution of the dispute between his music group, Black Leo Family, and fellow artist Famous.
In a statement shared on Friday, Kao Denero confirmed that the issue had been settled out of court, emphasizing that the decision was made “in the best interest of moving the entertainment industry forward.”
“I am pleased to announce that the matter between the Black Leo family and my brother (Famous) has been resolved peacefully,” the ambassador wrote.
He expressed gratitude to several key figures who played roles in facilitating the resolution, including Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, former ECOWAS Speaker of Parliament; Mr. Messeh Leone, international legal and media expert; Mr. Francis Ben Kaifala, Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission; Mr. Umaru Koroma, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources; and Sir Jimmy Batilo-Songa, National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
Kao Denero also extended appreciation to members of the judiciary and legal system, acknowledging the efforts of Justice Komba Kamanda, Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Mr. Alpha Sesay, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, as well as Magistrates Adama Kandeh of Court No. 4 and Brima Jah.
Additionally, he thanked his legal team Zachariah Azibo Kanu Esq., Alfred Kamand Esq., and Frederick Amara Esq. for their professionalism and support throughout the process.
“As the Ambassador for the Entertainment Industry, I appreciate the contributions and support of everyone and I look forward to working with all in pushing our industry forward,” he concluded.
The amicable settlement is being hailed by industry observers as a positive example of conflict resolution within Sierra Leone’s entertainment scene.
