Truth Media has strongly condemned recent threats made against one of its journalists, Amadu Lamrana Bah, and has reported the matter to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
In a press release dated October 14, 2025, the media outlet stated that the threats were issued during a Facebook Live broadcast by Admire Bio. An individual believed to be her husband, Dauda Jalloh, was heard in the background making violent remarks.
According to the release, the individual made statements suggesting physical harm toward Bah, who presents the Morning Devotion program on Truth Radio, including a clear threat to have the journalist “beaten.”
Truth Media described the statements as “deeply troubling” and stated they constitute a serious threat not only to the safety of their colleague and his family but also to press freedom and public accountability in Sierra Leone.
“As a responsible media institution, Truth Media has a duty to protect its staff and uphold the constitutional right to freedom of expression and of the press,” the company stated, citing Section 25 of the Sierra Leone Constitution.
The organization is calling on the relevant authorities to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of Bah, his family, and all media professionals.
“We equally urge members of the public to refrain from acts of intimidation or threats against journalists, as such conduct undermines democracy and the free flow of information,” the release continued.
Truth Media also extended its appreciation to the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) for its swift intervention and solidarity. The company also thanked colleagues and well-wishers for their “overwhelming support and concern.”
