A team of top international football scouts, including Tottenham Hotspur talent identifier Morlai Kamara and former Sierra Leone international Steven Caulker, is set to tour the country in November to scout young talent for international development and professional trial opportunities.

The initiative, jointly announced by Caulker and Kamara (who also serves as the SLFA’s International Talent Developer), is the first-ever comprehensive youth development program designed to systematically identify and nurture the next generation of football stars.

The talent identification tour is open to young players between the ages of 13 and 20 and will hold free trials across four major regional hubs on the following dates:

15 November 2025-Koidu Eastern Region
17 November 2025-Makeni Northern Region
19 November 2025-Bo Southern Region
21 November 2025-Freetown Western Area.

During the tour, registered players will undergo trials, technical drills, and physical assessments. Selected players will be shortlisted for regional camps or further trials with the international scouts, with the potential to receive invitations for international trials, development placements, or scholarship pathways.

Registration is currently open and is totally free, but players must complete the official online application form by the deadline of October 31, 2025.

Required documents for registration include a passport-size photo and documentation confirming the player’s age, such as a birth certificate or National Identification Number (NIN). The application form requires detailed personal, contact, and football background information, including current club, preferred positions, height, and weight.

Kamara previously emphasized the program’s goal is to improve coaching methodologies and focus on long-term player development. “We’re aiming to create opportunities and support player development… while also making it a pathway for exposure and growth,” he stated.

Shortlisted participants must present their original identification documents on the trial day for verification. Successful applicants will be contacted directly via email (Gmail).
