The three-day CAF Safe Stadium Initiative Workshop has successfully concluded in Bo City, marking a major milestone in promoting safety and security across football venues in Sierra Leone.

The workshop brought together over 40 participants from key institutions, including the Sierra Leone Police, National Fire Force, Office of National Security (ONS), stadium managers, and representatives from all 18 Premier League clubs.

Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) through its Safety and Security Department, the initiative aims to ensure Sierra Leone maintains a zero-death record during football matches and related events.

Over three days, participants were trained in crowd management, emergency response, risk assessment, evacuation procedures, and coordination among security stakeholders during football matches. These sessions were designed to equip participants with the skills to create and maintain a safe environment for fans, players, and officials.

The closing ceremony was graced by SLFA President Mr. Babadi Kamara, who commended CAF and the facilitators for organizing such a timely and impactful workshop.

He thanked participants for their dedication and urged them to apply the knowledge gained, highlighting that the skills acquired extend beyond national boundaries and can support professional careers in safety and security management within and beyond the football industry.
