Chief Minister, Moinina David Sengeh, conducted an official visit to the TAF Salone Microcity, hailing the project as a landmark achievement in the country’s drive for sustainable urban development.

The visit follows President Julius Maada Bio’s official commissioning of the site in December 2025. Dr. Sengeh, who was accompanied by the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, described the development as an “exemplary partnership” between the Sierra Leonean government and the private sector.

Located in John Obey, the TAF Salone Microcity is developed by TAF Africa Global. The project aims to address the national housing deficit by delivering 5,000 housing units.

During his tour, Dr. Sengeh met with Mr. Mustapha Njie, the CEO of TAF Africa Global, a visionary developer with over 50 years of experience in the African real estate market.

His account of why he did this investment in Sierra Leone speaks to the great work by His Excellency to make Sierra Leone business and investment friendly,” Dr. Sengeh shared. “I left inspired.

The Minister of Lands emphasized that the project fulfills a core manifesto commitment of the Bio administration: ensuring Sierra Leoneans can live in dignity. By creating a secure, master-planned environment, the project also seeks to eliminate common land-ownership hurdles, particularly for those living abroad.

Minister Sengeh also stated that upon arriving at the TAF Salone Microcity in John Obey, he was greeted by the visionary Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa Global, Mr. Mustapha Njie.

The more we learned about the project, the more I got inspired (forget the magical beauty). An idea started in 2020 led to an exemplary partnership between the government and the private sector. Two years later, construction started. Today, about 7 homeowners already live in the city. Dozens more have bought homes, and the city is alive (60% domestic owners, 40% diaspora). The ambition is to have about 5,000 homes.” he stated.
