Caritas Freetown, with financial support from Manos Unidas, has distributed stationery supplies to ten (10) Family Support Units (FSUs) in the Western Rural Area under the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Project.
The distribution exercise took place on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. It benefited FSUs located at the Waterloo Division Headquarters, Bassa Town, Songo, Tombo, Masorie, Bolima, Kissi Town, Newton, Crossing, and Rokel Police Stations.

The provision of these essential stationery materials is aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the Family Support Units to respond effectively to cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. The supplies will enhance case documentation, record keeping, communication, and service delivery, thereby improving efficiency and the quality of support provided to survivors.

The intervention supports a survivor-centered approach by ensuring that FSUs are better equipped to manage cases in a timely, confidential, and professional manner. It also reinforces collaboration between Caritas Freetown and the Sierra Leone Police in addressing SGBV and improving access to justice for survivors.

Caritas Freetown commended the commitment and continued efforts of officers attached to the Family Support Units for their role in safeguarding the rights and dignity of survivors of Gender-Based Violence.
The activity underscores Caritas Freetown’s continued commitment, with the support of Manos Unidas, to strengthening institutional response mechanisms and enhancing protection services for survivors of SGBV in the Western Rural Area.
