The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, has officially presented FIFA badges to ten referees and assistant referees approved to officiate international matches in 2026, reinforcing the country’s growing presence in global football officiating.
The presentation ceremony took place on Wednesday, 4 February, at the SLFA Headquarters in Kingtom. It followed the release of FIFA’s official list of international match officials for the year, which includes ten Sierra Leoneans made up of five centre referees and five assistant referees.
Speaking during the ceremony, SLFA President Babadi Kamara congratulated the officials on their selection and described the achievement as a reflection of their hard work, discipline, and dedication to football officiating.

He urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, stressing that their conduct on the field represents not only themselves but the image of Sierra Leone football at the international level.
According to the SLFA, the selected officials comprise six men and four women, a development that highlights the Association’s commitment to gender inclusion and the continued promotion of female participation in football officiating.
The centre referees named on FIFA’s 2026 international list are Umu Marah, Rashid M. Conteh, Aminata Fullah, Sulaiman S. Kamara, and Mohamed Bock Tarawally. The assistant referees are Fatmata Mansaray, Agnes A. Gbla, Mamoud A. Conteh, Sahr A. Freeman, and Alusine Conteh.

President Kamara emphasized the importance of discipline, transparency, and excellence, noting that FIFA’s recognition places a responsibility on the officials to serve as ambassadors of Sierra Leone football wherever they officiate.
The Sierra Leone Football Association commended the referees and assistant referees for their consistency and commitment to excellence and expressed confidence in their ability to represent the country with pride in international competitions during the 2026 football season.
