The National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has released a new “Petroleum Pricing Regime,” officially setting the pump prices for fuel across Sierra Leone effective Saturday, March 7, 2026.

According to the newly published regulatory schedule, the retail pump price for both petrol and diesel is set at 32.00 Leones (Le) per litre.

The regulatory body also announced the updated prices for other fuel products. Kerosene is now priced at 28.03 Le per litre, while fuel oil is set at 26.73 Le per litre.

The detailed pricing breakdown reveals the various economic components influencing the final cost at the pump. The calculations factor in an exchange rate adjustment of 23.78 Le to the US dollar.

The final price also accounts for Average Platts Prices, freight and premium charges, import duties, and specific national levies such as the Infrastructure Development Fund (IDF) and Road User Charges.

The official notice, authorized and stamped by the NPRA Director General, includes a specific directive for commercial buyers. It notes that the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) policy “remains applicable to all large Uplifters and payments denominated in USD.”

Consumers and businesses across the country are expected to adjust to these new rates immediately upon the regulation taking effect this weekend.
