The Sierra Leone Football Association has stepped up preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, with Head Coach Fatmata Turay naming a 30-player squad for a training camp scheduled to begin this month.

The invited players are expected to report to the SLFA Academy on Monday, 23 March 2026, with the first training session set for 7:00 a.m. The camp marks the start of preparations for a crucial two-legged qualifier against Ivory Coast in April.

According to the SLFA, the early start to camp is intended to build team cohesion and allow the technical team sufficient time to implement tactical strategies ahead of the encounter.

In a statement, the association noted:

“This training camp heralds the start of the team’s build-up to the crucial encounter, as the young squad aims to represent Sierra Leone with pride on the international stage.”

The upcoming fixtures against Ivory Coast are expected to test the team’s tactical discipline and physical readiness as they seek qualification for the global tournament.

The squad features players drawn from several top women’s clubs across the country, including Kahunla Queens, Mogbwemo Queens, FC Kallon Female, Ram Kamara Female FC, Rising Queens FC, Mena Queens FC, Vem Buck FC, and Ascentonians FC.
