The Ministry of Internal Affairs has established a technical committee to spearhead the implementation of its 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, marking a major step toward strengthening coordination across its agencies and departments.
The committee, which comprises senior technical representatives from the Ministry’s nine constituent agencies and departments, as well as its development partner, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was formally inaugurated during a meeting held on Friday, 10th April 2026, at the Ministry’s conference room.
According to the Ministry, the inaugural session focused on reviewing and discussing the terms of reference that will guide both the immediate and long-term execution of the strategic plan.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs, AIG (Rtd.) Morie Lengor Esq, emphasized the critical role of the committee in ensuring effective implementation of the plan. He noted that the process “would not be achieved without a technical committee to drive the process and set the way forward for identifying priorities, prevailing circumstances and their ongoing projects.”
The Minister commended members for their continued support and urged them to demonstrate sustained commitment and dedication to operational excellence throughout the implementation phase. He stressed that such commitment is essential for the Ministry to achieve its outlined goals.
Minister Lengor further highlighted that the Strategic Plan’s pillars and action plans are aligned with the mandates of the Ministry’s agencies and departments. He encouraged members to intensify their efforts, including working extra hours where necessary, with a clear focus on their respective priority areas.

He also outlined the plan’s approach to strengthening institutional capacity, noting the role of donor partner interventions in enhancing security and overall performance within the Ministry and its agencies.
The meeting was chaired by the Director of Policy and Coordination, Mohamed G. Yoki Esq, who expressed appreciation for the active participation and thoughtful contributions of committee members. He encouraged them to maintain the momentum and consistently apply effort in their assigned roles to ensure that deadlines are met.
The session concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to collective action in driving the successful implementation of the Ministry’s Strategic Plan.
