Authorities in Kabala have reportedly intercepted twenty-one alleged irregular migrants, including a four-month-old baby, in what is believed to be a case of human trafficking.

The operation was carried out by the Kabala Police Division through its Family Support Unit. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the dangers associated with irregular migration, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and children.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Bintumani News, Detective Police Inspector Anthony Pujeh, Line Manager of the Kabala Police Division, revealed that the group included both adults and minors, with ages ranging from 27 years to as young as four months.

Inspector Pujeh described the situation as deeply troubling, emphasizing that the presence of infants reflects the severe risks linked to irregular migration.

This is a deeply concerning situation. The fact that such young children are involved highlights the grave dangers that come with these movements,” Inspector Pujeh said.

Authorities have indicated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the trafficking operation and to identify those responsible.

The Kabala Police Division has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may relate to human trafficking or irregular migration.
