President Julius Maada Bio has inaugurated a series of landmark infrastructure projects in Pujehun District, marking what he described as the fulfilment of a long-held dream and a significant milestone for the people in that part of Sierra Leone.
The President officially commissioned the Bandajuma-Pujehun and Makibe bridges, alongside the paving of the road linking Bandajuma to Pujehun. These developments are expected to greatly improve connectivity, making travel to and from Pujehun faster, safer, and more convenient.

In addition, the ceremony featured the unveiling of a newly constructed clock tower, a symbolic structure aimed at welcoming visitors and instilling pride in the community.
Accompanied by Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh, President Bio also launched the Gbondapi road construction project, which is currently underway. The initiative forms part of the government’s broader commitment to enhancing infrastructure and boosting socio-economic development across the country.

Speaking at the event, officials highlighted the practical benefits of the new bridges and road network. The improved infrastructure is expected to make it easier and safer for schoolchildren to commute, facilitate the swift movement of patients and healthcare workers, and enhance trading activities through more efficient transportation.
The clock tower, constructed under the leadership of Chief Minister Sengeh, was also formally commissioned during the visit, adding a new landmark to the district.

Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the projects, expressing optimism that the developments will transform daily life and open up new economic opportunities in Pujehun and surrounding communities.
