The Sierra Leone Football Association has announced sanctions following the abandonment of an Orange FA Cup fixture between Star Sport Academy and East End Lions FC, played on Sunday, 3rd May 2026 at the SLFA Academy Field.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, 13th May 2026, the FA Cup Disciplinary Committee concluded its investigation after reviewing match reports, testimonies, and video evidence. The Committee established that the match was abandoned in the 86th minute due to acts of disorder, including pitch invasion and violence involving individuals linked to both clubs.
Following its ruling, the Committee confirmed that Star Sport Academy forfeits the match, allowing the 2–1 scoreline in favour of East End Lions to stand.
Star Sport Academy has been fined NLe 5,000 for its role in the incident. In addition, Samba Kanu, also known as “Offie” and believed to be associated with the club, has been handed a six-match suspension and a fine of NLe 8,000 for allegedly inciting the disturbance.

On the opposing side, East End Lions FC has also been fined NLe 5,000 after being found responsible for failing to control its supporters, some of whom were involved in acts of disorder during the incident.
The SLFA strongly condemned all forms of violence and indiscipline in football, warning that stricter sanctions including possible exclusion from competitions will be imposed for any future misconduct.
The Association further directed that all fines must be paid before the respective clubs are allowed to participate in their next official fixtures.
