The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, has conducted an unannounced inspection of the ongoing BADEA-funded infrastructure project at the Magburaka Government Secondary School for Boys.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, 26 May, formed part of efforts to assess progress on the major rehabilitation and modernization works at one of the country’s historic secondary schools.
The project includes the construction of modern classroom blocks, renovation of existing school facilities, development of teacher and principal quarters, office spaces, and a new auditorium. The works are aimed at improving the learning environment for both pupils and teachers.
During the inspection, Minister Sackey engaged with the project contractor and was informed that the overall completion rate currently stands at 71 percent. He also noted that a 30-day deadline has been set for the completion and handover of the facilities.
Minister Sackey emphasized that the project reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and improving learning conditions across the country.
He further stated that leadership must remain visible, proactive, and committed to ensuring that quality projects are delivered for the benefit of pupils and teachers.
The initiative forms a key part of the government’s Free Quality School Education (FQSE) policy, which seeks to provide a conducive and modern learning environment for students and educators nationwide.
