Abubakarr “DJ Boxx” Conteh, the Organising Secretary of the All People’s Congress (APC), has been invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to assist with ongoing investigations into the deaths of Abdulrahman “Omega” Sesay and Mary Sia Bangura.

Police sources indicate that Mr Conteh’s invitation is linked to efforts to obtain information regarding his presence at a social gathering reportedly attended by the deceased prior to their deaths. Authorities have, however, not confirmed any charges against him, stressing that he is being questioned as part of routine investigative procedures.

Family sources have expressed concern over Mr Conteh’s health, stating that he is currently unwell as the investigation continues.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to the prominence of individuals connected to it, as well as conflicting accounts surrounding the circumstances of the deaths.

While early social media commentary suggested possible drug or alcohol involvement, the family of Abdulrahman Sesay has strongly rejected those claims, describing them as misleading and inaccurate.

According to the family, a post-mortem examination conducted in Freetown reportedly indicates signs of foul play, including what they described as evidence of food poisoning and injuries suggesting that the deceased may have suffered a broken neck and strangulation. These claims have not been independently verified by authorities.

Abdulrahman Sesay, widely known as “Omega,” was a prominent APC figure in Port Loko District, where he previously served as District Public Relations Officer and was considered a potential aspirant for the position of District Council Chairman.

Amid growing speculation, the family has called for calm and urged the public and media to avoid circulating unverified information while investigations are ongoing.

The CID has confirmed that inquiries are continuing and has appealed for patience as investigators work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.
