The Government of Sierra Leone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with So Afri Loge, a step towards the construction of affordable housing units for civil and public servants.

The ceremony, held at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Dakar, was chaired by the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Senegal, Ibrahim Turay, who described the development as a powerful outcome of the President Bio’s economic diplomacy agenda.

Delivering his statement at the event, Lands Minister Dr. Turad Senesie reiterated the Government’s readiness to accelerate the partnership.

“With this MOU, we are not only pledging land and tax incentives but also our full institutional support,” Minister Senesie said. “We are committed to moving with speed to the Joint Venture Agreement, secure cabinet and parliamentary endorsement, and ensure that work can commence without delay. Housing our workforce decently and affordably is a matter of national priority.”

The Chairman of the ceremony, Ambassador Turay, expressed profound satisfaction with the milestone.

“I am happy that our economic diplomacy agenda is working well,” he said. “Attracting transformative investments like this housing project is precisely what we set out to achieve. I will continue to support the process to ensure it reaches cabinet and parliament expeditiously.”

With the MOU now in place, both parties have committed to an aggressive timeline for finalising the Joint Venture Agreement and securing the necessary legal and parliamentary endorsements.
