The Minister of Information, Chernor Bah, has assured citizens that fuel prices in Sierra Leone will decrease if global Platts prices continue to fall.
Speaking in an interview with AYV Television, Bah explained that the government remains committed to adjusting fuel prices in line with both international and domestic market conditions. He emphasised that the country’s pricing structure is influenced by a combination of external and internal factors, particularly global fuel benchmarks.
“If the global Platts prices continue to go down, prices in Sierra Leone will go down,” the Minister stated.
He noted that the government has consistently demonstrated its willingness to change in market conditions, pointing out that fuel prices have previously been adjusted upward and downward depending on prevailing circumstances.
Bah further assured the public that President Julius Maada Bio and key sector stakeholders are closely monitoring developments and will ensure that any favourable changes are passed on to consumers.
“I can assure the people of this country that His Excellency the President and the stewards managing the sector will reflect that as soon as the meeting takes place. If the circumstances change, it will be reflected in the prices, and we will announce that,” he concluded.
The statement comes amid ongoing public interest in fuel pricing and its impact on the cost of living across the country.

These people are really wicked, they knew the price has decrease but they’ll not a test to that because it favors them.
Most of these fuel stations are own by politicians, so in that regard, they’ll not do nothing as we’re expected
