President Julius Maada Bio has received the Letters of Recall of outgoing diplomats and Letters of Credence from three newly accredited envoys to Sierra Leone during a formal ceremony at State House in Freetown.
The newly accredited diplomats are Nigeria’s High Commissioner Mrs. Ayo Luther Ogbomde, Jamaica’s High Commissioner Mr. Lincoln George Downer, resident in Abuja, Nigeria, and Angola’s Ambassador Dr. Eustáquio Januário Quibato, resident in Conakry, Guinea.

The envoys conveyed greetings from their respective Heads of State and Government while expressing their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Sierra Leone in key areas.
Nigeria’s High Commissioner reaffirmed her country’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Sierra Leone in regional security, democratic governance, economic development, and regional integration.

Jamaica’s High Commissioner highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the two countries, noting opportunities for increased collaboration in tourism, culture, and investment.
Angola’s Ambassador identified agriculture, mining, and technical cooperation as priority areas for strengthening relations between both nations.
Responding, President Bio welcomed the three diplomats and assured them of his Government’s support throughout their assignments. He described Nigeria as one of Sierra Leone’s closest partners and acknowledged its contribution to restoring peace during the country’s civil conflict.
The President also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Jamaica in culture, tourism, and investment, while encouraging Angola to explore partnerships in agriculture, mining, skills transfer, and technical cooperation.

President Bio assured the envoys that Sierra Leone remains committed to deepening diplomatic engagement and building strategic partnerships that promote peace, economic growth, and sustainable development.
