The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) announced significant progress in the Batch Registration System (BRS) for upcoming national examinations in a press release dated February 3, 2025.

According to the ministry, 892 schools have successfully uploaded CASS 1 data, with 880 of those also completing CASS 2. However, 12 schools have not yet uploaded CASS 2, meaning they cannot proceed with this stage of the registration process.

Despite this setback, the ministry clarified that the affected schools can still complete their overall BRS entries and participate in the May 2025 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The BRS process remains active for all examination levels, including NPSE, BECE, and WASSCE, with a firm deadline set for February 7, 2025.

At present, only 228 schools registered for WASSCE have fully completed their BRS process out of the 892 schools that uploaded CASS 1.

The ministry is urging all educational stakeholders—including Boards of Governors, Parents, Heads of Schools, Deputy Directors of Education, and School Quality Assurance Officers—to ensure that their schools meet the final deadline. Officials warned that failure to complete BRS registration will render candidates ineligible to sit for the May 2025 WASSCE, and the government will not subsidize examination fees for students from schools that do not comply.

Heads of Schools facing challenges with the registration process are encouraged to contact the Ministry immediately for assistance.

“Let us work together to prevent previous registration issues and ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates,” the ministry advised.
