Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has reaffirmed support for Sierra Leone’s growing creative industry after attending a private listening session for Incredible JJ and his upcoming album titled The Maths.

Writing after the event, Sengeh described the evening as “special,” noting that beyond the quality of the project itself, the gathering reflected the strength, unity, and promise of the country’s entertainment sector.

He praised the album as rich and profound, while highlighting the atmosphere in the room as a source of hope for the future of Sierra Leone’s music and arts industry.

Several leading entertainers were present to support Incredible JJ, including Drizilik, Therapist, Apreel, Aminish, LAJ, Keltony and King Dave, among others.

Sengeh also acknowledged the presence of producers who attended in solidarity with the album’s producer, Nashito Kulala, noting the collaborative spirit among artists and producers within the industry.

He specifically referenced the collaboration between Incredible JJ and LAJ as one of the standout songs on the forthcoming album, while commending artists such as Drizilik, Therapist, and Sho Cole for consistently seeking opportunities to uplift others.

According to the Chief Minister, Sierra Leone possesses enormous creative potential across multiple sectors, including fashion, music production, cultural performance, and film.

He stated that while the country now has political will, policy direction, and human capital, what remains urgently needed is substantial financial investment to unlock the sector’s full potential.

Sengeh suggested that such investment could come from the private sector, but also emphasized that government has a major role to play in supporting creative growth and enterprise development.

Among other notable figures present were Kei Kamara, Nabeela Tunis, and Ambassador Alimamy Koroma.

He concluded by encouraging the public to pre-save the album ahead of its official release, signaling confidence that The Maths will be a major moment for Sierra Leonean music.
