The Ma Dengn Association, renowned for hosting the annual beach festival, officially unveiled the theme and dates for this year’s much-anticipated event. The grand launch ceremony occurred at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday, October 7, 2023, marking the beginning of the festival’s preparations.

Sinkare Sesay, Chairlady of the Ma Dengn Association, took the stage to reveal the theme and objectives of the upcoming festival. She emphasized that the 2023 edition would celebrate the authentic communal awujoh experience, highlighting the values of unity and sharing as catalysts for development. Sinkare Sesay promised attendees an immersive experience, with the festival grounds transformed into a vibrant hub of diverse tastes, aromas, and cultural performances.

The Ma Dengn Festival has always been a symbol of togetherness and cultural richness,” said Sinkare Sesay.

This year, we aim to elevate that spirit by creating a platform for genuine connections, showcasing our unique traditions, and providing a sensory feast for all who join us.”

In an exciting revelation, she also announced that the festival is scheduled to take place on December 16 and 17, 2023. This early announcement allows attendees and potential partners ample time to prepare for this extraordinary celebration.

Representing the Ministry of Tourism, Fatmata Samura lauded the Ma Dengn Association for its continued commitment to preserving Sierra Leonean heritage and fostering intergenerational connections through the festival.
