Renowned Nigerian musician Majeed, known for his hit “Money Dae Stop Nonsense,” has taken to social media to expose what he claims are the organizers of Unifest, alleging that they scammed him.

The incident unfolded after Majeed was invited to Sierra Leone by Unifest to perform at their December 2023 show. According to Majeed, he was allegedly paid only half of the agreed-upon fee, with a promise to receive the balance after the performance.

In a post on social media, Majeed shared pictures of four individuals, identifying them as the organizers of Unifest SL. He captioned the post, “My amazing Sierra Leone family, these are the thieves called UNIFEST SL that have refused to pay me after everything.”

Unifest, which featured prominent acts like Majeed and Mr. Jay Paul of BBN, had agreed on specific sums for both performers. Majeed was supposed to be paid $10,000, while Mr. Jay Paul was promised $5,000. Reports indicate that partial payments were made before the show, with Majeed receiving $5,000 and Mr. Jay Paul getting $3,000. The remaining balances were assured to be paid after the event.

However, after the show concluded, both artists were allegedly not paid their balances as promised. Unifest reportedly cited challenges and pledged to send the outstanding payments later. To date, there has been no communication or response from Unifest, leaving both Majeed and Mr. Jay Paul unpaid and without clarification on the situation.

The accusations by Majeed have sparked discussions on social media, with fans and followers expressing disappointment in Unifest’s handling of the situation and demanding accountability for the alleged nonpayment to the artists.
