Sierra Leone’s Peace Ambassador, Alhaji Amadu Bah, paid a courtesy visit to the Sierra Leone Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Rashid Sesay, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, where he called for enhanced unity and support for Sierra Leoneans living in the UAE.

During the meeting in Dubai, Ambassador Bah emphasized the importance of fostering peace, love, and national unity among the diaspora. He encouraged the community to emulate President Julius Maada Bio’s continuous advocacy for peace and harmony both domestically and internationally.

Ambassador Bah expressed concerns about complaints from Sierra Leoneans in the UAE, urging Ambassador Sesay to address the issues. He particularly stressed the need for the Ambassador to engage with citizens currently in custody due to immigration and other related matters.

He also proposed holding town hall meetings in Dubai and other regions to educate the diaspora on peace and national stability, highlighting the dangers of social media incitement and the distribution of illicit drugs, in line with President Bio’s stance on these critical challenges.

Ambassador Sesay welcomed the peace ambassador’s visit and affirmed his commitment to fostering unity and supporting Sierra Leoneans in the UAE. He outlined the efforts his team has undertaken to assist citizens and address their concerns.

Ambassador Bah concluded by offering condolences to families affected by the recent tragedy in the East of Freetown and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
