Principal Magistrate, His Worship Magistrate Mark Ngegba, has committed Abdul Kamara popularly known as Bigitel and two others to the High Court and refused the accused persons bail.
Bigitel of 3D Kamanda Farm, Mamba Ridge, Kissy in the east end of Freetown was recently declared a Drug Kingpin by the Sierra Leone Police. He stands accused of possession of a prohibited drug without lawful authority, contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drug Control Act, 2008, Act No. 10 of 2008.
It is alleged that on Saturday, 23rd day of September, 2023 at Mamba Ridge, Kissy in the Freetown Judicial District, Republic of Sierra Leone was found in possession of 181 wraps of Kush weighing 20.0 grams without lawful authority.
The two other accused; Ishmael Koroma of 78B Mamba Ridge, Kissy and Sallieu Bangura of 7B Mamba Ridge, Kissy were found in possession of 152.6 grams of Kush on Saturday, 23rd day of September, 2023 at Mamba Ridge, Kissy in the Freetown Judicial District, Republic of Sierra Leone.
In addition, they were in possession of high risk drug, to wit, one sachet of Ecstasy weighing 20.2 grams without lawful authority. They were also found in possession of loosed quantity of Cannabis Sativa aka Djamba, weighing 15.8 grams without lawful authority.
The three accused were before the Court to answer to seven counts. The accused persons have been remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
