U.S. Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Amb. Bryan Hunt, engaged both the leadership of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and the All People’s Congress (APC) during his visit to Falaba District.
Ambassador Bryan Hunt met with leaders from both the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and the All-People’s Congress (APC) during his visit to Falaba. Making his statement at both gatherings Ambassador Hunt stressed the commitment of the United States to strengthen ties with local leaders and maintain peace and democracy among them.
“The United States, support for Sierra Leone’s continued democratization and the importance of implementing in full both the Agreement for National Unity and the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations on electoral reforms. Maintaining the country’s peace and stability is of mutual interest to Americans and Sierra Leoneans’’ he stated.
Inviting Falab, the ambassador also met with the district council, local chiefs, and civil society to learn more about Falaba, engage in ongoing U.S. programming in the region, and discuss collaboration to make both our countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
District Chair Ibrahim Sorie Sesay and Paramount Chief Feren Marah welcomed Ambassador Hunt on his first official visit to Falaba District.
