In response to the longstanding monopoly in Pujehun, Wanjama Petroleum SL Limited, led by Abdulai Caulker, the National Coordinator of Sierra Leone’s Office of National Security, officially opened its doors on Saturday, January 20th, 2023, in Kpanga Krim Chiefdom.

The station’s manager, Abu Fomba, assured the community that the company’s 24/7 operations, supported by underground tankers exceeding 80,000 liters, will put an end to fuel shortages.

Beyond fuel services, Wanjama Petroleum SL Limited offers a mini-mart, entertainment center, and various business opportunities, all at affordable prices. Importantly, 98% of the workforce comprises local youths, fostering job creation and community engagement.

During the launch, Fomba encouraged Pujehun residents to take ownership of the facility, promoting a sense of community involvement and shared responsibility.

Paramount Chief Samuel A. S. Gbonda of Kpanga Krim expressed gratitude for the development, acknowledging the Kpangba community’s role in providing land for the project.

Foday Kandeh Rogers, Chairman of the Pujehun District Council, commended the CEO, management, and staff for addressing the district’s fuel challenges.

He emphasized the importance of professionalism in service delivery for the company’s positive image.

Jayah Muana, representing the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, praised Wanjama Petroleum SL Limited as the fifth fuel station in the district and fifty-sixth in the southern region, highlighting its commitment to high standards. The launch signifies a significant stride in alleviating fuel-related issues in Pujehun, contributing not only to a reliable fuel source but also to local economic development.
