Nine people are confirmed dead and many others injured following a horrific accident along the Bo-Koribondo highway near Sembehun 17.

The accident, which occurred yesterday, involved a truck loaded with granite rocks and an 18-seater passenger vehicle traveling between Bo City and Sahn Malen.

Reports indicate that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide head-on with the passenger bus. The Chairman of the Motor Drivers Union in Malen, Alhaji Mohamed Bawoh, who witnessed the incident, expressed concern for the survival of the injured passengers due to the severity of their injuries.

According to Bawoh, all occupants of the front seats of the passenger vehicle, including the driver, perished in the accident. Police personnel from Koribondo immediately transported the remains of the deceased and the injured to the government hospital in Bo.

Sahn Malen Police Station Officer Commanding, Michael Tommy, confirmed that the victims were all residents of Sahn Malen. The accident has cast a dark cloud over the community, who are grappling with the loss of loved ones and the uncertainty surrounding the fate of those injured.
