The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Sierra Leone has approved a payment plan for Zoodlabs to settle its $760,000 outstanding liabilities owed to the Government of Sierra Leone.
This decision was reached during the committee’s seventh sitting on Friday, January 24, 2025, as part of ongoing deliberations on the Auditor General’s 2023 Report.
Under the resolution, Zoodlabs is required to pay $60,000 monthly, starting January 2025, to clear its debt. The PAC, chaired by Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, endorsed this arrangement, highlighting its balance between debt recovery and sustaining the company’s operations.
Hon. Tawa praised Audit Service Sierra Leone for its thorough work in uncovering financial irregularities and ensuring accountability. He emphasized that the payment plan aligns with the government’s broader goal of recovering public funds while maintaining a conducive environment for businesses.
The PAC Secretariat was instructed to formally communicate the resolution to Zoodlabs and to ensure monthly payments are reported and documented for record-keeping and recovery tracking.
Hon. Tawa also noted that Zoodlabs had already made partial payments under the existing contract, underscoring the importance of continued compliance with the new arrangement.
