The management of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has announced the restoration of water supply in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone.

Residents of Makeni were recently unable to access water from SALWACO due to a breakdown at the Wusum Treatment Plant.

It was against that backdrop that the leadership of SALWACO headed by Managing Director, Ing. George Lamin Vandi and the Deputy Managing Director, Apostle Dr. Albert Harrisson Harvey inspired a team of engineers and a cross section of SALWACO top management to visit Makeni and to activate an emergency water resuscitation plan.

The team included, SALWACO’s Director of Operations, Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie, Maintenance Manager, Ing Abu Kallon who also doubles as the Ag. Head of Maintenance, among others, including the SALWACO team in Makeni, headed by Ing. Emmanuel Bayoh as Station Manager.

News about the resumption of water supply in the Makeni township has brought about satisfying reactions among customers, much to the admiration of all and sundry.

The SALWACO management is on record to have committed itself into providing safe and pure drinking water to people/residents in all SALWACO areas of operations outside Freetown. Such is also in line with the company’s thrust of enhancing sustainable development through the provision of water and to realize quality and profitability.

Management equally urges customers and clients to pay for water rates and to see that SALWACO is able to mobilize the said revenue which will facilitate and aid the sustainable development urge.
