Musu Sinneh, a newly weeded wife who recently stabbed her husband to death in Freetown has told the Court that the incident happened due to a misunderstanding. 

Sinneh was remanded in jail on Tuesday after Detective Sergeant 94462 John James Bellia testified against her on an allegation of killing her husband, Aruna Kamara.

According to the police, the accused on Monday 24th May 2021, at 1st Banga Farm, Goderich in Freetown, murdered her husband Aruna Kamara.

After the charges were read to the accused, she didn’t take any plea because the offence is a capital offence.

Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Pademba Road Court No. 2 on Tuesday 3rd August 2021, remanded Musu Sinneh after Detective Sergeant 94462 John James Bellia testified against her on an allegation of killing her husband, Aruna Kamara.

According to the police, the accused on Monday 24th May 2021, at 1st Banga Farm, Goderich in Freetown, murdered her husband Aruna Kamara.

After the charges were read to the accused, she didn’t take any plea because the offence is a capital offence.

According to the Police Investigator, Sergeant 94462 John James Bellia, on Monday 24th May 2021, at around 1400 hours, he was on duty at the station when the accused was arrested and brought to the station by his colleagues for the offence of murder.

He continued that the matter was handed over to him for further investigation. He added that upon receipt of the matter, a team of police officers together with an OSD officer went to the scene of crime at Banga Farm, Goderich.

“Upon arrival at the scene we found the deceased lying on the ground with his back full of blood. I and my colleague officers then conveyed the remains of the deceased to the Connaught Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem,” he said.

Bellia further added that the team visited the scene for the second time and upon arrival, they discovered a kitchen knife with blood stains lying at the back of the building and pieces of blood, he later took the knife and handed it to the exhibit clerk.

During Cross examination by Lawyer R.S Bangura, the witness said the accused told him that there was a fight between her and the deceased and they were fighting over a knife.

More witnesses are expected to testify in the matter. Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba remanded the accused person and adjourned the matter to Tuesday 10th August 2021.
