The Deputy Ambassador From the People’s Republic of China to Sierra Leone Electoral H.E. Li Xiaoyong , has assured the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ( ECSL) that China will continue to help ECSL’s work to deliver free and fair Elections for the people of Sierra Leone next year.

He was speaking on Thursday 28th July 2022 as he handed over office equipment and accessories valued at Millions of Leones to the ECSL .

This was done at ECSL Tower Hill offices .

In his statement, H.E Li Xiaoyong commended ECSL for the standards maintained over the years , whilst assuring them of China’s continued support and Partnership in delivering free and fair, and credible elections next year June 2023 .

It could be recalled that ECSL had earlier requested assistance from the Chinese Ambassador last month. Items donated are two (2) printers , one( 1) office table and chair, Five (5)Ipads , one (1) Conference chairs.

Chief Electoral commissioner Mohamed Konneh, thanked People’s Republic of China for such a Kind gesture which he said was not a new phenomenon from China to Sierra Leone.

He recalled an earlier donations of 11 stand -by Generators from the Chinese Embassy
